Trina Jeffrie is known as the Queen of Gospel Comedy she is a native of, Dallas TX.   She now lives in Dallas and Los Angeles with extended family of fans that crosses the United States of America. She is the Pioneer of Christian and Gospel comedy.  Trina Jeffrie started this form of comedy back in 1986.  In 2016 Trina Jeffrie has received Lifetime Achievement Award from President Barack Obama.  Trina Jeffrie also has a comedy Award name after her called the Sister Cantaloupe award, it is given out every year to up and coming Clean, Christian or Gospel comedian who is making head way in this arena. In October 2016 Trina Jeffrie received the Legacy Award from Church Stars for blazing the trail and being a pioneer. Trina’s name is placed in the gospel Encyclopedia and on Wikipedia. Trina Jeffrie, Traveling full time as a character comic she is booked sold in the Christian/Gospel arenas, she has become somewhat of a household name as the character Sister Cantaloupe.  By the third grade she was well on her way to becoming a great entertainer when she won her first oratorical contest.  Trina has made a vow that God would be her first love and acting her second.

“Sister Cantaloupe” was created by Trina, a cat eyeglasses wearing, colorful and loud speaking church-going sister.  She is often compared to Tyler Perry’s character “Madiea”.  But, this church busybody was created some 30 years ago and has performed in every religious and corporate community you can imagine. Trina the writer of all of her original one-woman acts has left audiences rolling in the aisles with her unique style of comedy and drama.  She has been deemed the “Queen of Gospel Comedy” she has won over 50 awards, with four award winning hit DVD & CD’s, Trina has recorded five Video/CD/DVD and are nationally distributed (Go Cantaloupe Go -1996, Laffing Out Loud with the Lord - 1998, “Un-Be-Weave-able - 2002”, Dr. Bobby Jones All Star Comedy (released on Lions Gate) – 2004, Armed and Dangerous – 2006.  DVD 3pack “Classic Comedian Collection” 2012. Trina was awarded Best New Artist and Best Video.  Also she is the winner of the AMG 2014 award for “Comedian of the Year”.  She will release her new DVD/CD Comuzic -2017.

Traveling fulltime performing as a headliner, Trina has sold out shows from the East Coast to the West Coast.  She has also toured and appeared with most of the top names in the Gospel and R&B industry such as Kirk Franklin, Yolanda Adams, Fred Hammond, John P. Kee, The Winans, Jennifer Holiday, Dr. Bobby Jones, Pebo Bryson, Aretha Franklin, Stephanie Mills, Brandy, Stevie Wonder, and R. Kelly, Steve Harvey, Ricky Smiley & Kevin Hart to name a few.  She has appeared on numerous television and radio shows including “The Tavis Smiley Show”, “ BET-Dr. Bobby Jones Show”, “The Jenny Jones Show” and more.  She’s been featured in magazines such as “Sister 2 Sister”, Gospel Flavor, Gospel Today and more. Trina is involved in motion pictures, television and magazine publication, and others, and with her versatility she has written movies, plays and produced & directed.  She has also toured two years in the national play, “Friends and Lover” with stars such as Leon (Waiting to Exhale), Mel Jackson (Soul Food), Megal Neuyes, (Jawwana Man) Monica Calhoun (The Best Man) which is now at Block Buster. She co-wrote and stared in Casino starring Gerald LeVert and Kelly Price, she was also in “Leap of Faith” starring Steve Martin and “Necessary Roughness” starring Sinbad and more. Trina is quick to say, “God is the only Daddy I’ve known and ‘He’ spoil’s me so, to God be the Glory”.
